Discount Hydroponics

Three times I've tried to go here and they are not open during listed hours. No sign on door. Just locked doors. Wasted fuel and time. Again. Thanks dudes. I give up. I'm trying to give money to this local business but this stuff keeps happening. Note the multiple reviews complaining about this. It's a basic courtesy to your customers and the public to keep posted hours, or at least put up a sign. The failure to do it, and keep doing it, speaks to the "tough beans, pal" approach to customer service that, I imagine, pervades this place. What if I bought something here and had issues, or needed assistance, but was met with the same attitude? I'll never have to find out.

I have been trying to get in contact with this store for 2 days to see if they sell calmag. They will not answer their phones and when I walked down there, even though the sign said “open”, the doors were locked and the lights were on. I knocked, I called, I even went around the building, thinking I was maybe at the wrong entrance. Why say you’re open if you’re clearly closed? What a waste of time. I almost assumed the worst like maybe an employee fell over and got hurt but why would they lock the doors then? I realized maybe their customer service is just…really bad.

I was just discriminated against at this store. The guy at the counter would not sell to me because I would not put a mask on. There were multiple people in the store without a mask on 1 of which was the guy's son. He was jump roping behind the counter. Another employee was walking around without a mask on. I went in the day before and the very same guy was working WITHOUT a mask on and he was working with a customer that wasn't wearing a mask and didn't require me to wear a mask. This was yesterday! In the end because of the blatant hypocrisy I refused to put a mask on and as a result the guy refused my money Very poor service would not recommend.

Sign says open, but the doors were locked. I was told that he was out to lunch and would be back shortly. I waited 70 minutes and still not back. I watched 6 people come and leave. What a joke! Don’t waste your time go to Lyell ave first!
